Alyssa is currently a junior at George Mason University majoring in integrative studies with a concentration in legal studies and a minor in leadership.
Alyssa grew up in northern California in a strong conservative family. One of her first experiences as a conservative was supposed to be a Greenpeace fundraiser for school in the fifth grade. Her mother explained the radical agenda of Greenpeace and left the decision up to Alyssa as to whether or not she wanted to participate in the fundraiser. Alyssa did not have to think too hard about her decision to opt out.
Alyssa continued her conservative activism in high school where she succeeded in bringing local conservative speakers to campus, actively encouraging the student body to vote, and taking a group of students to Sacramento for a luncheon featuring various conservative leaders.
She knew, upon first hearing about Young America’s Foundation, that this was an organization for which she wanted to work. The Foundation’s dedication to conservative campus activism inspired her to become even more proactive and outspoken on the George Mason campus, and she is thrilled with the opportunity to assist with the spread of conservative values on high school and college campuses throughout the nation.
