Job Summary
The Program Coordinator will play a key role in NJC’s mission to train the next generation of truth-seeking journalists, working closely with the director to identify promising students, implement a curriculum, and serve our robust alumni network.
Responsibilities
Helping coordinate the NJC internship application process, interviewing potential
participants and placing them at the appropriate outlets
Recruiting students to NJC’s programs on an ongoing basis
Offering career counseling and mentoring alumni
Tracking and reporting on the careers of NJC’s alumni
Contributing to the program curriculum
Coordinating with new and existing speakers
Organizing events and trainings, especially during NJC’s 12-week internship
sessions
Coordinating internal communications
Coordinating with YAF’s program and development team to help ensure NJC is
integrated with YAF’s programs and overall mission
Collaborating with the development staff to assist in fundraising as needed
Assisting with the planning and execution of NJC’s annual Dao Prize for Excellence in Investigative Journalism, including soliciting applications and
assisting with the selection processb
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Committed to and genuinely enthusiastic about YAF’s mission and programs, including the National Journalism Center
Strong background in media required
Strong organizational skills, solid attention to detail, and ability to work under deadlines
Self-motivated, resourceful, and flexible
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess a strong knowledge of conservative ideas and adherence to the Conservative Movement
Familiarity with Microsoft Office (including mail merge and Excel)
Total commitment to compliance with YAF policies and procedures
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
