Job Summary

YAF is seeking a program assistant to support and expand its student education programs, the RBH docent program, and the RBH visitor experience. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills, as well as a talent for story-telling and communicating with people of all ages.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning and executing YAF student conferences and education programs in Dixon and elsewhere, as needed.
  • Oversee the RBH docent program and lead tours of the RBH and related historical sites ensuring all visitors have a world-class experience.
  • Coordinate and facilitate group visits to the RBH by engaging in robust outreach efforts to recruit additional visitors from area public and private schools, homeschool associations, youth camps, faith communities, and civic organizations.

  • Manifest genuine enthusiasm concerning YAF’s mission and programs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Self-starter and ability to work as a collaborative, constructive teammate
  • Strong desire to educate and inspire young Americans by sharing true stories about Ronald Reagan’s upbringing in Dixon, career, conservative philosophy and values
  • Dedication to superior customer service and a passion for creating unequalled and memorable experiences for RBH visitors
  • Excellent planning and organization skills and the ability to multi-task
  • Aptitude to work with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Total commitment to compliance with YAF policies and procedures as set forth in the YAF Staff Manual

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience coordinating events and organizing tours
  • Experience working with school administrations and youth organizations
  • Familiarity with YAF and Conservatism

Specific physical demands that relate directly to the essential job duties and responsibilities include:

  • Frequently moves boxes and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds for various office and special events needs; and
  • The ability to move self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments, including moving safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.

Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
