Job Summary
The program officer for Young America’s Foundation’s Center for Entrepreneurship & Free Enterprise (CEFE) will play an important role in recruiting and training the next generation of students to champion free market principles and challenge the growing popularity of socialism. The candidate will be a self-starter and able to effectively prioritize responsibilities and manage travel schedules. Frequent travel is required.
Responsibilities
Support students in organizing successful free enterprise campus lectures on college campuses and at schools nationwide.
Assist with organizing free enterprise student conferences at YAF’s national headquarters, the Reagan Ranch Center, and elsewhere.
Manage the administrative aspects of CEFE, including conducting general correspondence, scheduling speakers on campuses and at conferences, and completing other tasks as necessary.
Conduct research on and outreach to free market-oriented faculty members, business schools, economics departments, and other like-minded organizations to expand CEFE’s national network.
Build relationships with college and high school students who participate in CEFE’s programs, ensure they are integrated into the Foundation’s overall activities, and provide them with the resources they need to be successful advocates for free market ideas among their peers.
Work with the vice president and program director to market CEFE to attract new students, speakers, and faculty allies.
Draft and compile reports on CEFE’s activities to be shared with the broader Foundation team, supporters, and key stakeholders.
Requirements
Skills, Qualifications, and Qualities
Committed to and enthusiastic about YAF’s mission and programs
Bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge of free market ideas, including free market principles, books and writings, thinkers, and leaders.
Experience with campus activism and student recruitment, preferably with
Ability to travel.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation
