– President Ronald Reagan

You are invited to come network with like-minded peers and gain insights into conservative activism and leadership.
Why Should I Attend?
  • Meet friends from across America who won’t cancel you over differing opinions
  • Learn from top leaders in the Conservative Movement about how to champion your principles at your school & beyond!
  • Meet your heroes and ask them questions during Q&A
  • Walk in President Reagan’s footsteps at the Reagan Ranch
  • Explore the trails of the Reagan Ranch via open-air Jeeps
  • Receive valuable resources, free books, and patriotic swag
  • Improve your critical thinking, communication, and debate skills
  • Gain skills that will better prepare you for college and your career
  • Enjoy 4 days in beautiful Santa Barbara, CA, and 3 nights in a luxury beachside hotel
  • Become an effective, principled, and courageous leader!
Dive into the heart and mind of one of America’s greatest leaders! YAF’s four-day program will whisk you away on a journey through history, revealing the people, places, and ideas that shaped the 40th President. You’ll walk away with a deeper understanding of how Ronald Reagan changed not just the country, but the world, and how you can do the same. Brace yourself for the ultimate adventure as you journey to the Reagan Ranch, where the very essence of President Reagan’s character comes alive. From his tireless work ethic to his astounding humility and love for freedom, the Ranch is a monument to his vision for America – a “Shining City on a Hill.”

Today, young people are taught that America is the exact opposite –a place of racism, oppression, and limited opportunity– and that our most important systems and institutions– the Constitution, free enterprise, free speech, and religious liberty among them – are simply instruments of this oppression. This program will help you grapple with important questions about American identity and better equip you to understand and defend the principles of freedom.

During this program, you will engage with the top leaders of the Conservative Movement, soaking up their ideas and inspirational stories. Plus, you’ll mix and mingle with fellow young leaders from every corner of the USA. And as if that wasn’t enough, you’ll also get to explore Rancho del Cielo, the “Western White House,” which the legendary Ronald Reagan called home for 25 years. It’s going to be an unforgettable week!

This educational program will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, and will conclude on Saturday, June 22, at 4:30 p.m.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?  The conference fee of $100 includes three nights in a hotel, conference materials, transportation during the program, and meals from Wednesday dinner through Saturday lunch.

WHERE WILL STUDENTS STAY?  YAF will provide hotel accommodations for students on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday nights at the Hilton Santa Barbara Beachfront Resort (633 E Cabrillo Blvd, Santa Barbara, CA 93103).  Students will have one or two roommates of the same sex, and students may request a roommate on their application.

A NOTE TO RETURNING STUDENTS: We strongly encourage continuing involvement with YAF, through forming or joining YAF chapters, campus activism initiatives, and conference or seminar attendance. However, after your participation in two identical conferences at the Reagan Ranch, applications from first-time attendees will be prioritized, unless:

  • You have recruited new students to attend their first YAF program along with you
  • You have established a new YAF chapter at your school
Consideration will still be given to returning students if space is available. We also encourage you to apply for programs at other YAF venues, including our National Headquarters in Virginia, the Reagan Boyhood Home in Illinois, and other regional programs (for which you would be considered first-time applicants). We appreciate your enthusiasm for YAF and hope you continue to engage with our programs!
