Students currently enrolled in college and members of Young Americans for Freedom chapters are eligible to attend this program.
You should arrive on Thursday, October 3 for check in at the Reagan Ranch Center (217 State Street, Santa Barbara, California 93101). Registration begins at 12:00 noon and ends at 1:15 p.m. The program begins promptly at 1:30 p.m. You should eat lunch before the afternoon sessions begin.
The conference ends Saturday, October 5 at 12:15 p.m. We recommend flights departing on Saturday after 1:00 p.m. FULL TIME attendance is required. Flights requiring a departure prior to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday are not allowed.
You will be assigned to a hotel within walking distance of the Reagan Ranch Center for Thursday and Friday night and will receive your roommate assignment at hotel check-in. You will have one or two roommates of the same sex. The registration form contains a blank in which you can request a roommate, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests. Room keys will be available at the hotels by 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Luggage storage will be available at the Reagan Ranch Center at registration.
If you would like to stay an additional night in the hotel, you must make your own arrangements. YAF only provides lodging for Thursday and Friday night.
Tuition assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis for those with financial need. If you have financial need, please email a brief essay (no more than a page) to Conference Director Madison Habersetzer at [email protected] with some language regarding your financial need and what you hope to gain by attending the conference. We cannot consider your request until we receive this essay.
The seminar includes Thursday and Friday night at a Santa Barbara hotel, conference materials, and meals from Thursday dinner through Saturday lunch.
This program is open only to college students currently.
Dress is casual, but respectful. Jeans are acceptable as long as there are no holes or tears.
Shorts, baseball hats, leggings, and clothing with cutouts are not acceptable attire. Bring a jacket, comfortable shoes for the Ranch, and a t-shirt representing your school or YAF chapter!
The program begins on Thursday with a crash course in campus activism, a buffet dinner, and a keynote speaker in the evening. Saturday features a full day of speakers and question-and-answer sessions, a memorable tour of the Reagan Ranch, and then a dinner banquet in the evening. Final sessions take place Saturday morning, and the seminar ends with bag lunches for travels home. Students will receive a detailed agenda via email prior to the conference.
