UPDATE: The University of Utah has clarified that its mention of “Womxn” solely pertains to a departmental event put on by the Film Studies Department, and the stylization has not been officially adopted by the university. It is worth noting, however, that other university units including Equity, Inclusion, & Diversity, and the Department of Student Affairs, commonly use the leftist term on the university’s website.
What is a ‘womxn?’
In a bizarre twist of irony, a number of schools throughout the nation have decided to kick off the first day of Women’s History Month by quite literally erasing the word “woman” and replacing it with “womxn.”
The term “womxn” has gained traction with some on the Left as an approach to promote “inclusiveness” for “transgender” and “non-binary” individuals. While men who enjoy wearing dresses and those who somehow believe they are “too good for gender” most likely appreciate this, how does this absurd development sit with real women and girls?
The New Guard performed web searches for the made-up term on the websites of educational institutions and discovered that over a dozen institutions have adopted this nonsensical modification:
“The term ‘womxn’ erases the inherent biological differences and astounding achievements that should be the true focus of Women’s History Month,” emphasized Jasmyn Jordan, national chairwoman of Young Americans for Freedom.
This subtle but deliberate alteration in language represents a larger and more insidious pattern of ideological indoctrination within the Left’s playbook. Once that mission has been accomplished, there is no telling where the manipulation ends.
