Irate leftist students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison are making plans to protest an upcoming YAF event featuring the Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles, according to posts on the school’s message board. Knowles is set to deliver a pro-life lecture at the state’s flagship campus next Wednesday.
“Wtf is this? Why is it endorsed by the school?” asked a student in reference to posters that the Young Americans for Freedom chapter had placed.
While several students pointed out the existence of the First Amendment and the right to free speech that it guarantees, others were less than thrilled.
When one student reflected on Matt Walsh’s visit last year to their campus, another chimed in stating that they “did a good job showing up in protest of his values,” and suggested that their actions were “the correct response.”
Ahead of Walsh’s visit, leftists vandalized the campus using cans of spray paint, and one particularly unhinged individual began tearing pages out of a student’s Bible and eating them. It was a response, for sure, but it probably not “the correct response” if they were hoping to convince others to join their side.
While the protestors will not intimidate the YAFers or Michael Knowles, hopefully, for the sake of the university’s maintenance staff and the leftists’ digestive health, they’ll leave their cans of spray paint and Bible-eating appetites at home this time.
