Micah grew up in a conservative family in Orange County, and originally wanted to pursue a career in firefighting.
In high school he started working for Lorrain Lim catering who caters all of the Reagan Ranch lunches and Round Table events. While catering a YAF High School Conference lunch at the Ranch, he spoke with Ranch staff about what a position looks like up on the mountain. He has always loved being outdoors and doing manual labor. So, after hearing about some of the responsibilities the ranch hands had, he was very interested and sent his application into YAF. He was excited to find his interview with Brent Kilpper had gone well, and Micah started his role as a ranch hand a week later.
While working at the ranch, Micah continued on the path to become a firefighter and attended EMT school at Ventura College. After one semester, he realized he could combine the elements of being a first responder and outdoor manual labor in his role at the ranch. His passion for preserving President Reagan’s legacy quickly grew, and he realized how valuable his role at the Ranch was. He began to see his future at the ranch.
After five years at YAF and the Reagan Ranch, Micah was offered the Ranch Manager position which he happily accepted.
As of November 2022, he and his new wife Leigha will be moving into the ranch manger home and will be starting their life living at Rancho Del Cielo. They are looking forward to living on top of the mountain and are excited for Micah’s future with YAF.
