Michael Jones is chairman of the Young America’s Foundation Alumni Board of Governors. In 2010, Mr. Jones served as chapter chairman of East Tennessee State University Young Americans for Freedom. His devotion to conservative student activism led to him being appointed the Tennessee chairman of Young Americans for Freedom, where he worked to launch chapters across the state, and becoming a member of the Young Americans for Freedom National Board of Directors. Mr. Jones was also a contributor to The New Guard, the official publication of Young Americans for Freedom.
In the fall of 2010, Mr. Jones was elected to serve as national chairman of Young Americans for Freedom. The following year, he led the unification effort between Young America’s Foundation and Young Americans for Freedom. It was the belief of Mr. Jones that Young America’s Foundation would provide Young Americans for Freedom with an exceptional opportunity to communicate the message of conservatism to a vast number of students across the nation. Mr. Jones has described the unification as “the most significant moment in the history of Young Americans for Freedom since the adoption of the ‘Sharon Statement’ at its founding in 1960.”
In the fall of 2016, Mr. Jones stepped down as head of the Young Americans for Freedom Board of Governors and was appointed chairman of the Young America’s Foundation Alumni Board of Governors.
Mr. Jones received a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Arts in History from East Tennessee State University.
