Nicholas Baker serves as the assistant editor of Young America's Foundation's campus news publication, the New Guard.
Nick studied economics, political science, and Catholic studies at Saint Louis University and The Catholic University of America. He is currently working on attaining a master's degree through the Illinois Institute of Technology.
He first got involved with YAF during his freshman year at SLU by participating in the 9/11: Never Forget Project. In December 2021, he coordinated a standing-room-only lecture featuring Matt Walsh. The event was a success despite the efforts of hundreds of irate leftist students and administrators who attempted to block the event from happening by implementing onerous COVID restrictions and blocking traffic outside of the venue.
Later that year, his chapter attempted to host Elisha Krauss to speak about the importance of free speech and diversity of thought, but SLU administrators immediately ordered campus police to escort her and the audience members off-campus while allowing her protestors to stay.
He hopes that his work at the Foundation will help instill courage and strength in the hearts and minds of young activists for years to come.
