Brexit Boost is Free Market at Work

Sky News reported Monday that decreased travel costs incurred by June’s Brexit vote are leading to increased tourism to Britain this summer. According to Sky News, “The slump in the pound since the Brexit vote has produced an immediate boost for UK tourism with flight bookings into the country up on last year.” The report is based on findings released by travel firm ForwardKeys. The firm found international net bookings rose 4.3% in the 28 days after the vote,  reversing the trend seen the month preceding the referendum when bookings were 2.8% lower. ForwardKeys chief executive Oliver Jager commented, “Brexit had an immediate, positive impact on inbound tourism to the UK.” Gotta love free markets.
