YAF Welcomes Kathryn Beale To National HQ Team

Kathryn Beale joins Young America’s Foundation as the assistant to the office of the president. As a Kentucky native, Kathryn attributes much of her early interest in conservative activism to the culture of hardworking Kentuckians who exemplify and champion the ideas of individual freedom and traditional values. Kathryn is a graduate of Lipscomb University, where she earned a BA in philosophy and German with a minor in ethics and was an NCAA Division I athlete. Kathryn began her involvement in public policy as an active participant of Lipscomb’s student government, as president of Lipscomb’s campus conservative club, and as secretary of the Tennessee College Republicans. These roles eventually led her to an internship at the College Republican National Committee. Kathryn began her career in Washington as an intern in the office of then-Congressman Marsha Blackburn (TN-07) and as a post-graduate fellow for Running Start. Following her internship, Kathryn served as an executive assistant at BGR Group, a top lobbying firm in Washington. It was there that she was introduced to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and eventually was offered a staff position in his personal office. As a legislative correspondent for her home state, Kathryn handled a diverse portfolio of issues, with an emphasis on healthcare and transportation policy. When she is not at YAF, you can find Kathryn scouring the Washington, D.C.-area for the best Mexican food, watching UNC Tar Heel basketball, and traveling with her family on mission trips to Kenya.
