A public university in Virginia plans to host an event disparaging Christians, according to a tip received through Young America’s Foundation’s Campus Bias Tipline.
Virginia Tech’s Department of Religion and Culture is sponsoring a “brown bag discussion” discussing a book titled, Unholy: Why White Evangelicals Worship at the Altar of Donald Trump with author Sarah Posner on November 16.
A flyer for the event features a photo of the book and reads “Sarah Posner Type Investigations.”
Posner is journalist and author who focuses on denigrating Christian conservatives. This is her second book discussing the religious group.
Posner’s twitter is full of the same kind of Christian disparagement, often implying racism.

YAF reached out to the event’s listed contact, Professor Matthew Gabriele, along with the university, but neither responded in time for publication.

Young Americans for Freedom activist Blake Barnhill told YAF “…this is blatantly dishonest and disrespectful to anyone who calls themself a Christian at Virginia Tech.”
“The university should not be sponsoring speakers who clearly have an out-of-touch anti-Christian, anti-Conservative bias,” he said.
The book in question is a transparent smear campaign against conservative Christians. And to host a woman who espouses such bigotry towards Christians at an event sponsored by a public university is absolutely abhorrent. The use of this book in an educational setting is completely unacceptable, and it wouldn’t be accepted if it were about any other religion, particularly atheism. This is just one of the reasons YAF activists must continue to fight for tolerance and religious freedom on their campuses.
