During the pandemic, the Biden administration wanted only one message in the public square: theirs. Everything else was “misinformation. And the federal government used willing third parties, social media companies, to do what the government itself was not allowed to do in banning adverse opinions from the internet: a blatant attempt to circumvent the First Amendment and shut down opinions they did not like.
