When public school officials in Massachusetts secretly influenced middle school children to adopt new gender identities behind their parents’ backs, YAF joined 20 other freedom-oriented groups to argue that families, not governments, are the foundation of society and are solely entitled to teach their children about such matters. YAF believes that parents are the best administrators of their children’s own physical, moral, and educational development. YAF further believes that administrators who attempt to block parents from protecting their own children must be stopped, especially since parents, not schools, have a constitutional right to the upbringing of their children.
