YAF’s New Guard discovered the University of Michigan sponsors a “police abolition center” using taxpayer dollars to pay the leading professors’s salary and possibly to pay other expenses. YAF filed public records requests to learn more details, which the school initially ignored. YAF reminded UMich of its statutory duties, and the school eventually responded that it would produce records. Unfortunately, the School claims no records exist between the school and the center, which is not credible given publicly available information. YAF therefore filed an appeal.
