Rutgers denied formation of YAF chapter, citing technical requirements. YAF suspected pretext and filed a records request. After attempting to withhold records, Rutgers eventually produced records that were nearly 100% redacted, essentially rendering them useless. YAF appealed the redactions. Through mediation, YAF successfully negotiated key redactions that shed light on Rutgers’ internal deliberations.
