Washburn University approved YAF chapter’s plans to bring Michael Knowles to campus, but then sought to marginalize the event. Washburn’s president publicly condemned YAF as “inciting fear.” YAF filed a request seeking records concerning the statement. At first, Washburn unbelievably claimed none existed. YAF successfully appealed the records denial to the Kansas Attorney General, who ordered the school to produce additional records.
