Boris Johnson Speaks to Students at Florida State University
Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson spoke to more than 1,100 students at Florida State University for a Young America’s Foundation event, giving students the opportunity to hear directly from one of the world’s most recognizable leaders and conservative voices.
Johnson discussed his experience in government, the future of the West, the special relationship between the United States and United Kingdom, and the challenges facing Western civilization.
Drawing on his time as Prime Minister, Mayor of London, Foreign Secretary, journalist, and author, Johnson shared his unique insight and offered students his perspective on leadership and the issues shaping the free world.
The event was held in conjunction with Florida State University’s Institute for Governance and Civics to help students better understand current events and the issues shaping the world around them, while strengthening their knowledge of government, civics and the principles of civic engagement.
The event was part of YAF’s speaker program, which brings prominent conservative leaders, authors, journalists, policymakers, and public figures to college campuses across the country. The series provides students with opportunities to hear directly from influential conservative leaders on the different ways that students themselves can make an impact.
Johnson’s appearance at Florida State University continued YAF’s efforts to bring prominent conservative speakers to college campuses and expose students to conservative ideas, especially because they are often absent from the classroom.
