The Clemson University YAF chapter has been named the December 2024 Young Americans for Freedom Chapter of the Month.
While many students would be focusing on final exam preparations, Clemson YAF organized and hosted Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon. In his speech to a packed crowd, Dillon highlighted how establishment media is fake news and how conservatives can fight back. “We need more people who are willing to go out there and fight the fight, take the fight to them, and say we aren’t going to lie down and be censored, or worse, censor ourselves.”
Clemson YAF promoted the event as happy warriors for freedom with flyers featuring satirical headlines from the Babylon Bee. This innovative approach helped them reach a wider audience and ensured the event’s success.
The Dillon lecture was the culmination of Clemson YAF’s efforts this fall. Coming off of being named the 2024 Rookie Chapter of the Year, Clemson YAF was determined to continue advancing conservative ideas on its campus.
Earlier in the semester, Clemson YAF organized YAF’s signature 9/11: Never Forget Project. Additionally, Clemson YAF organized additional activism projects and attended YAF’s Fall College Retreat in Washington, D.C.
Chapter Chair Kady Bedard stated, “Hosting this event gave us the opportunity to table all over campus and proudly share our conservative values with our peers.”
The following members were instrumental in the chapter’s success:
