A University of Iowa student who describes herself as a supporter of anarchy and communism swiped a handful of copies of the Constitution of the United States from a Young Americans for Freedom event earlier this week. She then announced plans to repulp the booklets into “new paper” on which she and others can write “gay, queer, pro-Palestine, democratic socialist, socialist, anarchist, communist, whatever the f–k we want” content.
Having a fun day on campus recycling some pretty yucky hate speech into something new, sustainable, and beautiful! Out with the old… in with the new. pic.twitter.com/IQrJJ0xNcL

This same student, who wore an unusual hat reminiscent of a character from a Dr. Seuss book, tried (unsuccessfully) to confront the speaker, Paula Scanlan, on her assertion that men cannot become women.
In the video posted to X and reposted by the University of Iowa’s ANTIFA chapter, the individual says, “My favorite thing lately has been repulping propaganda and making something new out of it. So, I was at this really disgusting YAF event the other night, I had a pretty cool hat, you might have seen it. And I got all this propaganda from their free table – so what I’m going to do now is remove all of these staples, soak them in water overnight, and then tomorrow, I will repulp them and make new paper out of them.”
“And on the new paper, we can put all of our beautiful, gay, queer, pro-Palestine, democratic socialist, socialist, anarchist, communist, whatever the f–k we want, will go on our new paper, made from disgusting, horrendous, hateful propaganda,” she added.
Jasmyn Jordan, chairwoman of Iowa YAF, responded with a very accurate observation: “Only in America can our students rip up the Constitution and call it ‘propaganda’ and ‘hate speech,’ try that in a communist country.”

Daniel Di Martino, a freedom activist and speaker for Young America’s Foundation’s Center for Free Enterprise & Entrepreneurship, also chimed in: “She should check out what happens to many young women who protest in Venezuela. They get sent to this building like most political prisoners. There, they get tortured and many just try to kill themselves. This is what happens in communist countries.”
