Emily Washler serves as the program officer for digital media. Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Emily graduated from the University of Florida where she studied political science and history. She has had an interest in public policy and the Conservative Movement since middle school and grew up teaching herself about the principles of Conservatism and leaders within the Conservative Movement. While in college, Emily worked for the supervisor of elections of Escambia County and Congressman Ted Yoho. In 2016, Emily joined the University of Florida’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter and played a role in the chapter hosting its first major speaker, Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro. In the fall of 2017, Emily took on the role of UF YAF’s social media director, extending the chapter’s impact across numerous social media platforms. During her time as social media director, the chapter successfully advertised and hosted several different activism projects, including 9/11: Never Forget Project and Freedom Week, as well as speaker Bay Buchanan. The summer before graduating, Emily interned in the Young Leaders Program at the Heritage Foundation where she made the decision to turn her passion for promoting conservative principles into a career. Emily looks forward to working with young conservatives to build the impact of student activism, campus lectures, and YAF conferences across digital media.
