“Don’t you dare put on that sombrero.”

In a hilarious Facebook graphic that captures the oversensitivity of college administrators perfectly, the Multicultural Student Center at the University of Wisconsin urged students to “reclaim” Cinco De Mayo. The post, which was shared from another page, demands that students don’t eat Chipotle, don’t wear a sombrero, “acknowledge the stereotypes you have internalized and discover why they are problematic,” “donate to organizations working for immigrant rights,” “avoid every party store,” and “don’t you dare put on that sombrero.” On a positive note, it says nothing about margaritas, so all UW students should assume those are still fair game.
