Early Tuesday morning, Young Americans for Freedom students discovered that posters advertising Dinesh D’Souza’s YAF-sponsored lecture at the University of Wisconsin- Madison tonight had been defaced with profanity and swastikas. Vandals tore many of the posters down, but scrawled phrases like “Resist Marxism,” “F**k This,” and “Right Wing Asshat” on the ones that remained. As can be seen in the photo above, they even stooped so far as to draw a swastika beneath D’Souza’s image. This is especially interesting considering just last week, leftists on the campus staged a protest over the arrest of a vandal who spray painted “The devil is a white man,” “Death to the pigz,” “You are oppressed” and more on buildings across Madison. Are the same progressive social justice warriors who defended this student’s reprehensible actions responsible for targeting D’Souza, who is a minority, simply because he’s conservative? If so, their real concern for diversity and inclusion seems flimsy, and clearly stops as soon as it “includes” diversity of thought. Furthermore, D’Souza has devoted his career to resisting Marxism, so the vandals don’t appear to be especially well-informed either. D’Souza’s lecture at UW-Madison, organized by the school’s YAF chapter and sponsored by Young America’s Foundation’s Wendy P. McCaw Freedom Lecture Series, is tonight at 7:00 PM CST. The entire event will be live streamed at www.livestream.com/yaf.
