Administrators at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Prescott, Arizona, campus have again banned YAF students from expressing conservative ideas, specifically by barring opposition to DEI in their materials promoting an upcoming event.
The ERAU YAF chapter, ahead of their planned campus lecture with Lt. Col. Allen West, was informed this week that they could not advertise the event with posters that state “DEI is Racism” or otherwise mention DEI.
According to an email from ERAU’s Molly Webb, the chapter’s promotional materials cannot even include the fact that Lt. Col. West “speaks against DEI.” In order to be approved, according to the school administrator, any such references must be removed.
As YAF has repeatedly reported, ERAU’s totalitarian speech ban is used to silence only certain (read: conservative) viewpoints because they contradict leftist nonsense. YAF students previously were banned from discussing the number of genders (there are two, ICYMI) in public on campus, and tried to prevent the YAF chapter from hosting detransitioner Chloe Cole.
YAF and its students prevailed and held a successful event despite ERAU’s ongoing censorship, and subsequently filed a civil rights complaint with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.
Now, as before, when YAF students at ERAU — and elsewhere — are under attack, YAF has their back.
This is a developing story and may be updated.
