Campus leftists at the University of Iowa are trying to prevent the brave voice of a detransitioned teen from being heard – by running over and stealing the YAF chapter’s sign that was put up to promote the event and erasing chalked messages with event details.
Chloe Cole, a leading young voice in the movement to protect children from the evils of the Left’s gender ideology, is scheduled to deliver a YAF campus lecture on October 16 about her personal experience as a victim of the “transgender” movement.
According to Iowa YAF Chair Jasmyn Jordan, the sign, which the club paid more than $200 for, was placed Monday afternoon at a central campus location.
A few hours later, another YAFer walked by and noticed that the sign had been run over, leaving what appears to be tire tracks from a golf cart and a shoe print visible. The YAF student placed the sign back upright, only to find about an hour later that it was once again knocked over.
The cycle repeated itself several times over before the sign was nowhere to be found later that evening.
According to the University of Iowa Police Department, security camera footage shows a group of students approaching the sign, removing the event poster from within the sidewalk sign frame, throwing them, and then making off with both pieces.
Police eventually recovered the sidewalk sign frame, but couldn’t locate the poster or its costly protective cover.
Leftists were later caught on camera erasing chalked messages that were also promoting the event, replacing them with “tax the rich” and other liberal slogans.
“Lol ‘tax the rich’ how boring and predictable could they possibly be,’ Chloe Cole posted on X.
“Their actions indicate a sense of entitlement, but a lack of confidence in their beliefs,” Jordan told the New Guard. “If they truly believed that the Left’s gender ideology was the truth, they wouldn’t be afraid of allowing students to hear about Chloe’s first-hand experience,” she continued.
Just a few weeks ago, members of the university’s ANTIFA organization, working in tandem with a student government officer, leaked the details of the Chloe Cole event long before they were supposed to be made public.
In a surprising departure from normal the outcomes of leftist misconduct at the University of Iowa, the student government officer faced multiple penalties, including suspension from her committee and probation.
Jasmyn and her fellow YAFers hope that rules will similarly be upheld in this situation, and that the chapter will receive reimbursement in order to replace its stolen sign.
