Jimmy Fallon Helps Miley Cyrus Promote Planned Parenthood

During a recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s late night talk show, Miley Cyrus announced a new collaboration with Marilyn Minter and Marc Jacobs on a t-shirt to raise funds for Planned Parenthood. In reference to the the project, Fallon said, “They can learn a lot from you, because you’re also doing other stuff too for charity.” Jimmy Fallon is a likable entertainer with a great show, but labeling Planned Parenthood as a “charity” crosses the line. Last year, the Center for Medical Progress released a video showing that Planned Parenthood has profited from the selling of baby parts. Not only do they conduct thousands of abortions per year, but they do not provide pre-natal care and charge exorbitant amounts of money for all of their services. They do nothing to help the less fortunate. Miley Cyrus said during the appearance, “I think it’s really important for me to be someone that speaks out about women’s health rights and reproductive rights, and I think that’s important for people not to be afraid to talk about that.” Aborting millions of babies isn’t “women’s health” and Planned Parenthood isn’t a “charity.” Jimmy Fallon would be wise to use that word carefully.
