Young America’s Foundation is excited to announce Kenny Xu as the newest development officer to join its national headquarters staff.
Kenny graduated from Davidson College magna cum laude, majoring in mathematics and minoring in philosophy.
He was first introduced to YAF and the Conservative Movement during his freshman year at Davidson. Seeking a conservative counterpoint to his college’s predominantly liberal academic and social culture, Kenny co-founded the Young Americans for Freedom chapter at Davidson in the spring of 2016.
Over the course of the next three years, under Kenny’s leadership, Davidson YAF brought several high-profile speakers including 37th Treasurer of the United States Bay Buchanan, author Christina Hoff Sommers, and business leader and longtime CEO Andy Puzder.
Davidson YAF also organized the 9/11: Never Forget Project and published widely-read conservative commentary throughout the year. These events—and seeing Davidson’s culture become more accommodating of conservative views due to his effors—set a fire in Kenny’s heart for conservative activism.
Kenny served with Young America’s Foundation as a William and Berniece Grewcock Intern Scholar during the summer of 2017. He discovered his passion for donor relations during this period and credits YAF for helping him discover the field.
In the summer of 2018, he further developed his communication and relational abilities as a development intern with The Heritage Foundation.
Kenny is grateful to return to YAF and be part of the organization which has changed his life and the lives of so many young people across the country.
