Campus leftists at the University of Kentucky are desperately trying to prevent the school’s Young Americans for Freedom chapter from holding a successful lecture featuring the Daily Wire’s Matt Walsh, according to screenshots obtained by the New Guard.
“New scavenger hunt,” Dylan Mears, a senior, who according to his LinkedIn profile, is studying to become a teacher, wrote in the University of Kentucky Hillel organization’s group chat. “Keep your eyes peeled y’all.”
Mears went on to claim that Walsh is known for his “racism and a touch of antisemitism,” despite his working for the Daily Wire, a company co-founded by Ben Shapiro.
“We’re disappointed, but not surprised, that intolerant leftist students are trying to prevent Matt Walsh’s important message from being heard,” Kat Brammer, chair of the UK YAF chapter, told the New Guard. “Our YAF chapter is working hard to ensure a successful event. For every poster they tear down, we’ll put up three more,” she added.
Kat also noted that her chapter has incurred at least $2,000 in additional printing costs to replace the damaged flyers up to this point.
Walsh is slated to deliver his popular “What is a Woman?” lecture at UK’s Worsham Cinema on Tuesday, October 17 at 6:00 PM. This event is free and open to the public, and tickets can be reserved here.
