A Clinton-appointed federal judge has reversed a Florida law that protected children from being prescribed dangerous drugs that were designed to chemically castrate sex offenders, according to reports. The judge, Robert Hinkle, declared the law “unconstitutional” and insisted that it was created out of hatred for LGBTQ+ people.
State lawmakers initially passed the law in 2023, blocking the use of puberty blockers and hormones for minors who experience gender confusion. The law aimed to prevent minors from under going so-called “transgender” treatments and surgeries, citing very valid concerns over the long-term effects of these short-sighted decisions.
The idea that the state government doesn’t have an interest in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children is wrong. The state is responsible for protecting its citizens, especially those who are not equipped to make such life-altering decisions.
Hinkle’s ruling came after several parents of “transgender” children sued Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo over the law, claiming that it was discriminatory and infringed on their “rights” to neuter their children.
The leftist judge decided that because several major medical organizations (which just so happen to be led by far-Left radicals like him) approve of using the same drugs used to punish sex offenders on children, the law did not concern a “legitimate state interest.”
Governor Ron DeSantis and Dr. Ladapo have consistently championed policies that put children’s health and safety first. Their efforts to block these barbaric practices were based on sound medical reasoning and a desire to prevent irreversible harm. The case is expected to be appealed.
Unfortunately, the current outcome prioritizes the Left’s bizarre agenda over the wellbeing of children, and may have an impact on similar laws throughout the nation.
“This is a disheartening setback in combating child mutilation, but I’m confident that we will win in the end,” remarked Jasmyn Jordan, national chairwoman of Young Americans for Freedom.
