Lena Dunham: All ‘White Americans’ Need to Change After Alton Sterling Shooting

On Wednesday night, Girls actress Lena Dunham took to Twitter say that all “white Americans” need to “change” in the wake of the shooting of Alton Sterling by a Louisiana police officer earlier this week.

1. Alton Sterling was killed because we refuse to acknowledge the fact that our police forces protect selectively and harm enormously.

The 30-year-old actress, known for being the awkward step-child of Taylor Swift’s infamous girl squad, also attacked the American police force, claiming they “protect selectively and harm enormously.” Several other celebrities including Olivia Wilde, Justin Timberlake, and Drake tweeted about the shooting but Dunham was the only person to insinuate that the entire caucasian population is to blame.
