Young America’s Foundation is excited to announce the addition of Paula Scanlan to our unparalleled campus lecture program.
Scanlan graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was a collegiate swimmer and teammate of Lia Thomas.
Inspired by fellow female athletes, Paula broke her silence in June 2023 as her experience competing against a biological male and the efforts of her college’s administration and student body to silence her and suppress her right to free speech.
Scanlan has encouraged females, especially athletes, to come forward, share stories, and join her in making change to protect women everywhere.
“The damage against women’s sports is a symptom of an underlying disease: the destruction of free speech and meritocracy at the altar of equity and inclusion,” Scanlan told the New Guard.
Breana Marsh, YAF’s campus events coordinator, believes that the brave collegiate athlete will inspire students to follow in her footsteps and stand for their beliefs: “Paula’s debut YAF speech at one of our recent high school programs was an immense hit, and we’re honored to play a role in bringing her courageous message to campuses throughout the country.”
