Religious freedom is a natural, unalienable right.
Yet, religious freedom is under attack today, both in the United States and across the world.
There’s a temptation on the left to sacrifice religious freedom for other ideological goals, but it must be resisted.
The freedom to ask fundamental religious questions, the freedom to live with integrity and authenticity with respect to one’s answers to those questions, the freedom to worship or not worship God, all of these freedoms are necessary. These freedoms are indispensable to the flourishing of human beings.
That is why religious freedom is a fundamental human right, and why it must be protected.
