Schools Block YAF Displays Honoring October 7 Attack Victims and Hostages

On the first anniversary of Hamas’ barbaric October 7 attack on Israel, Young America’s Foundation and its student activists will mark the solemn occasion with campus lectures delivering the truth about Israel and its enemies along with memorial displays honoring the innocent victims of the attack and those still held in Hamas captivity.

Monday evening will see YAF-sponsored lectures by Ben Shapiro at Yale University, Ian Haworth at the University of Iowa, and Michael Knowles at UC-Berkeley — bringing the truth about Hamas atrocities to campuses where far too many students believe lies about Israel.

In addition, YAF student activists at schools across the country will set up memorial displays featuring Israeli flags to honor the lives stolen by radical Islamic terrorists and remember the hostages still being held in Hamas captivity.

Sadly, YAF activists at several schools where these events and displays are set to take place are being threatened by radical pro-Hamas students and administrators who would rather cave to campus leftists than ensure pro-Israel students are allowed to safely hold these important events:

• At the Prescott, Arizona, campus of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, administrators told the school’s YAF chapter that it could not set up a display of Israeli flags.
• An administrator at the University of Georgia similarly gave that campus’ YAF chapter the run-around for an Israeli flag display before doing the right thing by allowing the student activists to create their memorial and providing security to protect the flags. Still, fears about radical pro-Hamas students on UGA’s campus necessitated the use of bike racks to protect the Israeli flags from leftist students.
• Leftist students at the University of Iowa have already defaced banners advertising Ian Haworth’s YAF lecture, repeating pro-Hamas refrains calling for the murder of Jews and elimination of Israel.
• Even at the high school level, YAF students at Waterford Kettering High School in Michigan are being blocked from putting up Israeli flags and being denied recognition for the YAF chapter they are working to start.

While it’s nothing new for leftist administrators and students to actively suppress, vandalize, and block bold YAF activists as they work to bring true intellectual diversity, objective truth, and a dose of reality to their peers, the radical pro-Hamas mobs — aided by weak school administrators — have thrown campuses into a new ugly iteration of chaos.

Young America’s Foundation will continue to have the backs of our student activists and hold schools and administrators accountable when they run afoul of the Constitution. The Left thrives on fear and cowers from the truth, but YAF and its students will continue to carry the torch of freedom and truth to high schools and colleges across America.
