On Tuesday, November 15, DePaul University Young Americans for Freedom will host Christina Hoff Sommers and a special guest on campus at 5:00 p.m. The entire event will be streamed live on Young America’s Foundation’s website.
In August, DePaul triggered a media firestorm after forbidding YAF from hosting a lecture by Ben Shapiro on campus. The school has been widely criticized by national and local outlets for demonstrating hostility to free expression on its campus.
Dr. Sommers will be addressing that very topic. Her lecture is titled, “Safe Spaces, Trigger Warnings, and How Liberal Academia is Infringing on Your Free Speech Rights.” As a former university professor with years of experience in higher education, Dr. Sommers is uniquely qualified to tackle DePaul’s flawed policies.
Audience members should expect a forceful defense of free speech.
