Young America’s Foundation is saddened to learn of the passing of Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. A longtime friend of the Foundation, Secretary Rumsfeld took pride in public service and advocated for freedom and democracy around the globe.
He and his wife, Joyce, were also loyal supporters of Young America’s Foundation, visiting the Reagan Ranch and Reagan Ranch Center and speaking to our audiences on several occasions.
Our nation and the world is better off thanks to his leadership and integrity. He was a steadfast and true stateman—from his service in the U.S. Navy to his time in Congress and through his work as Secretary of Defense for two U.S. Presidents.
Secretary Rumsfeld will be greatly missed, but his legacy will live on in the freedoms he fought for and preserved through his service to our nation.
