Liberals at the University of Michigan have lost all self-control.
Vandalism of conservative student groups’ property happens regularly on campuses across the country, but at no school is this childish behavior more common than at the University of Michigan.
This weekend, U-Mich Young Americans for Freedom made the unfortunate discovery that a large banner advertisement they purchased to market Ben Shapiro’s upcoming YAF lecture at the school has been defaced, as reported by The College Fix. The text on the banner, which read, “Truth is a Microaggression,” was completely crossed out. The vandals also wrote the word “disrespect” under the original text and colored in Shapiro’s eyes.
Just last week, liberal students at the university ripped down flyers Michigan YAF had created and displayed to advertise their event featuring Jewish conservatives. One year ago, a large banner advertisement Michigan YAF created to promote Jonah Goldberg’s upcoming YAF lecture at the school was stolen by leftists.
Notice a pattern? Michigan’s liberal vandals have attempted to censor three consecutive events featuring prominent Jewish conservatives.
The same people who are screaming nonsensical platitudes about diversity and inclusion have now gone out of their way three separate times to censor religious and ideological minorities on their campus. This should alarm Michigan students, alumni, and taxpayers, all of whom should be concerned about the state of intellectual diversity on their campus.
Everybody knows who’s in the real position of power on college campuses, and it’s certainly not the conservative students who can’t even hang up fliers without being censored. Thankfully, however, Michigan YAF is bold and undeterred by their peers’ attempts to silence their right to free speech and all three lectures have been (or will be), very successful.
