Young America’s Foundation congratulates alumni who have been appointed to positions in the incoming Trump administration. Throughout the year, we will highlight additional YAF alumni serving in key roles in the Presidential administration and Congress.
Sergio Gor has been named director of Presidential Personnel, a role responsible for hiring qualified candidates to serve the President in departments and agencies across the government.
Sergio attended The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where he led the YAF chapter on his campus. Gor hosted several conservative speakers through YAF, including Speaker Newt Gingrich, Dinesh D’Souza, Karl Rove, and David Horowitz.
He also organized key activism projects, including the 9/11: Never Forget Project. For his involvement with YAF, Sergio was recognized as one of YAF’s top student activists in 2007 and 2008.
Since graduating, Gor has held key roles with the RNC and Fox News and served as communications director for Senator Rand Paul. He most recently operated Winning House Publishing with Donald Trump Jr., which produced bestselling books, including Letters to Trump and Save America.
In an interview with YAF’s magazine, Libertas, Gor reflected on his involvement with YAF as a student:
“YAF gave us a voice to stand up, not only to fellow liberal students but also to the entire University administration. It emboldened us in spreading our conservative message and was our mentor on campus.”
As a YAF alumnus, Gor has remained involved by helping Young America’s Foundation host leading conservative speakers, including Senator Paul and Judge Jeanine Pirro.
In December, President Trump nominated Leah Campos to become the U.S. Ambassador to The Dominican Republic.
Campos served as an intern at YAF’s national headquarters in the early 1990s and has remained involved by speaking at YAF programs over the years.
She attended Arizona State University and the University of Pittsburgh. While in college, Campos attended several YAF conferences, including the annual National Conservative Student Conference.
Since graduating, Campos has had a successful career focused on international affairs, specifically Western Europe and Latin America. She served as an operations officer in the CIA’s National Clandestine Service and a senior advisor to the Committee on Foreign Affairs in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In a Libertas interview, Campos reflected on her YAF involvement as a student, noting, “The experience was great! I was surrounded by proud conservatives who believed strongly in promoting and defending the principles upon which our country was founded.”
Gor and Campos are among YAF’s thousands of alumni who have continued to advance the cause of freedom throughout their careers. We look forward to what they will accomplish in these key positions.
