On January 11, longtime YAF ally Congressman Jim Jordan was awarded the nation’s highest civilian honor—the Presidential Medal of Freedom. This prestigious honor is no stranger to YAF’s circles as Attorney General Ed Meese and Dr. Arthur B. Laffer were awarded by President Donald J. Trump in 2019.
Congressman Jim Jordan has been an advocate for conservative values in Congress since he was first elected in 2007. He is known for being one of Congress’s most conservative Members—and his voting record and longstanding involvement with YAF, the premier conservative student organization, proves just that.
Jordan is a founding member of the influential House Freedom Caucus, a group of conservative members of the House of Representatives that advance an agenda of limited, Constitutional government.
While being arguably one of the most hardworking Members of Congress for the conservative cause, he has dedicated much of his valuable time to inspire and educate young activists through Young America’s Foundation’s student programs.
A frequent and favorite speaker at conferences and events, Jordan most recently spoke at YAF’s National High School Leadership Conference to hundreds of eager high school students from across the country. He also spoke at YAF’s Reagan Ranch High School Conference, the Columbus Regional Freedom Conference, YAF’s annual Reagan Forum on Capitol Hill, and YAF’s signature National Conservative Student Conference.
“Congratulations to Congressman Jim Jordan for being awarded the Medal of Freedom, remarked YAF CEO Governor Scott Walker. “Congressman Jordan has frequently spoke with students at our Young America’s Foundation conferences and they love him because of his passion for defending freedom. We look forward to having the newest recipient of the Medal of Freedom address our students in the future.”
Young America’s Foundation is grateful for this indispensable conservative leader and commends him for this well-deserved honor.
