The annual list released by Red Alert Politics highlights young, right-of-center leaders who are making an exceptional impact in their communities or on their campuses, and once again several YAF leaders have been nominated to receive the accolade. Red Alert has asked for help selecting a “Top 10,” and voting is open through October 6. For your consideration, here are the YAF leaders nominated for the 2017 30-Under-30 list: Lynn Sementilli Lynn Sementilli is a native of Buffalo, NY and a recent graduate from the University at Buffalo. Lynn graduated in May 2017 with a BS in Electrical Engineering, and is currently pursuing a Masters of Science degree at UB in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in networks, telecommunications, and electronics. For the past year, she has worked for an engineering company based out of East Aurora, NY, assisting in the production of electrical control units for both commercial and military aircraft. Lynn was the founder of University at Buffalo’s YAF chapter, which was recognized as an official student club by the university in February 2017, after a 10-month battle with the administration. She served as the chapter’s chairman until her graduation in May. Lynn was first introduced to Conservative politics by her parents while being homeschooled during her K-12 years, and sees many of her Conservative convictions as an extension of her faith in Jesus Christ. She continues to have a passion to advocate for Conservative principles in her hometown and hopes to continue being politically active in the future.

Kara Bell Kara Bell most recently served as the chairwoman of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Young Americans for Freedom chapter, the boldest and most active conservative organization on the 30,000-student campus, infamous for its liberal activism and leftist protests. Since 2015, when she first got involved with YAF, Kara has fearlessly advanced the principles of limited government and individual freedom at Madison by organizing campus-wide lectures by prominent conservative leaders such as Dinesh D’Souza, Ben Shapiro, John McAdams, and Robert Spencer. She has also led numerous major campus initiatives, including the 9/11: Never Forget Project, Freedom Week, and the GPA Redistribution Project. Following Kara and her YAF chapter’s efforts to successfully host Ben Shapiro on campus – despite the refusal of campus security to remove agitators who sought to shut down the event – campus liberals petitioned to have the university denounce the chapter. Determined to fight back, Kara and her chapter stood strong. Followed this failed attempt at suppressing conservative ideas, the New York Post praised the YAF chapter under Kara’s leadership, describing the group as a “Reaganite bunch” that is “spreading love of free markets and other conservative ideas.”

Spencer Brown Spencer serves as the Spokesman for Young America’s Foundation, where he oversees the Foundation’s media and digital strategy. Most recently, in his role, he’s been able to combat the Left’s narrative around Berkeley and boldly defended conservative students in the national media. Spencer has appeared on Fox Business, HLN, OANN and has been quoted by The Washington Post, The New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, LA Times, College Fix, Breitbart, The Daily Caller, The Washington Examiner, Red Alert Politics, and The Hill. In high school, Spencer served as an intern for Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. At Regent University, he led his Young Americans for Freedom chapter on campus.
