YAF’s Freedom at 250 Series Makes Its Final Stop in Philadelphia

Young America’s Foundation brought together more than 500 supporters and college and high school students for its Freedom at 250 conference in Philadelphia, featuring prominent conservative leaders, commentators, and public figures who shared their perspectives on the principles that shaped America.

The conference featured headlining remarks from Gov. Scott Walker, former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum, Kayleigh McEnany, Liz Wheeler, U.S. Rep. Scott Perry, and Enes Kanter Freedom, Nick Frietas, Dr Daniel Di Martino, and many others.

The speakers encouraged students to stand firm on their conservative beliefs and remain committed to the principles and values that have defined the American experience.

Walker encouraged students who feel isolated on campus because of their conservative beliefs to continue speaking out and advocating for their principles.

He reminded students that they may have more support than they realize and that standing up for their beliefs can help them discover just how many others share their views.

One particularly powerful moment came when Santorum reminded students that fighting for the causes they deeply care about does not always mean achieving immediate success. He shared the story of a man who credited Santorum with helping save his unborn child after his girlfriend decided not to go through with an abortion, after seeing a commercial in which he was proposing his legislation.

Although Santorum’s legislation may not have passed through the halls of Congress, its impact reached far beyond Capitol Hill. His story served as a powerful reminder that even when a battle seems unsuccessful, standing firm in your convictions can change lives.

Dr. Di Martino was also able to share his firsthand experience as a child growing up under an oppressive socialist regime and reminded students that the promises of socialism are a myth. In reality they bring suffrage, poverty, and oppression to those who live under it.

Students also had the opportunity to visit historic sites in Philadelphia, including the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, where the Declaration of Independence was debated and adopted. These visits offered students a firsthand connection to the founding of the United States and the principles of liberty and self-government that continue to shape the nation.

As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, YAF’s Freedom at 250 Conference gave students the opportunity to hear from leading conservative voices, explore the nation’s founding history, and reflect on the enduring importance of the principles that made America exceptional.

Students did not just learn about conservatism and Americas founding. They were reminded that those values are worth fighting for, and they were equipped with the resources to go back to their campuses and advocate for conservatism.
