A Young America’s Foundation flag display featuring more than 1,200 Israeli and American flags in honor of the victims of the October 7 Hamas attacks was destroyed over the Sabbath.
Shabbos Kestenbaum, a Jewish student who worked with YAF to install the display, posted a video of the aftermath to X:
Our flag display at Harvard was vandalized after 2 days.

“If you want to understand the state of antisemitism at Harvard, it’s Saturday night, and we just finished the Sabbath. And we had almost all of our Israeli flags and our American flags either thrown all over the campus, thrown in the garbage, or ripped. I had to assemble some friends, and we’re out here, it’s about 11:30 at night, putting back our installation. All of our hostage posters were of course ripped and destroyed, so we’re gonna get new ones.”
“These flags represent the Americans and Israelies who’ve been held hostage since October 7th. The radicals who vandalized this display don’t care about them. They are wrong. So wrong,” remarked YAF President Governor Scott Walker in reaction to the destruction.
Even when simply walking around campus, he and other Jewish students say they’ve been stalked and followed. In a separate video, he showed two reflective vest-wearing, pro-Hamas “monitors” who had their eyes glued on his every move.
After 12 days of silence, Harvard finally condemned the pro-Hamas encampments and the harassment of Jewish students. But President Alan Garber hasn’t removed them from campus! Words mean nothing when antisemitic students feel they can follow Jews on their way to class pic.twitter.com/1q44jbqwn5

Thankfully, Shabbos and others throughout the country are not afraid to stand up against this antisemitic insanity, calling it out for what it is.
