AshleyLeenertsjoined Texas Right to Life as a legislative associate in 2020. Since then,Ashleyhas been serving with TRL to advocate for Life through grassroots activism and by helping to pass impactful, life-saving legislation, such as the Texas Heartbeat Act.
Prior to this, she obtained her Bachelor’s in Spanish with a minor in Psychology from Angelo State University, finding inspiration in her studies from a year-long internship working with a church in Sucre, Bolivia.
Ashleygrew up believing that all Life was sacred, but the real catalytic moment for her came when her younger sister unexpectedly became pregnant as a teenager. Estranged from her family and in need of tangible assistance, her sister found support at their local pregnancy resource center.Ashleylargely credits this center with saving her nephew's Life. After this experience,Ashley began volunteering at the local pregnancy resource center and felt compelled to make advocating for innocent human Life her mission. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the fight for life has only intensified.
Along with thousands of others,Ashleycontinues to advocate for human dignity from fertilization until natural death.
