David Limbaugh is a conservative political commentator and author.
Limbaugh graduated cum laude from the University of Missouri with a bachelor's degree in political science. He also received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Missouri. While in law school, he was a Member of Missouri Law Review. He served in the National Guard from 1972-1978.
He was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 1978 and began practicing law in September 1978 and has continued in practice since. He is presently a partner in the law firm of Limbaugh, Russell, Payne and Howard. In his first year of law practice he also taught Business Law in a night class for two semesters at Southeast Missouri State University.
He has been active in community service. He served as a member of the Cape Girardeau City Council for eight years, elected by the Council to serve as Mayor Pro-Tem for six of those years. During his second term on the City Council, he served as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors for the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce. He also served as a member of the Cape Girardeau Missouri Public Facilities Authority and was on the Annexation Committee; he was a member of the Cape Girardeau City Board of Appeals. He served as Chairman of the Cape Girardeau County Constitutional Bi-Centennial Committee. He served as a board member of Southeast Missouri Arts Council from 1983 through 1989.
He is presently a member of Lacroix United Methodist Church where he has served as Chairman of the Church Council. He is a member of the Cape Girardeau Lions Club. He is a member of the Cape Girardeau County Bar Association, and the Missouri Bar Association.
He served as a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, and he serves on the Sports and Entertainment Law Committee of the Missouri Bar. He is a Disciplinary Hearing Officer for the 32nd Circuit Judicial Ethics Committee.
He has served since 1993 on the Board of Trustees for Southeast Missouri Hospital and has served on its Executive Committee since 1996.
He is primarily involved in entertainment, business and contract law and is a nationally syndicated columnist with Creators Syndicate. His columns have also been featured in Townhall.com, WorldNetDaily, Jewish World Review, and The Washington Times. He is a public speaker, addressing various topics that include the Constitution, America's Christian heritage, and political and cultural issues from a conservative perspective. He is also author of two New York Times best-selling books, Absolute Power, The Legacy Of Corruption In The Clinton-Reno Justice Department, which was on the New York Times Bestseller List for ten weeks, making it number two at its high point, and Persecution: How Liberals are Waging War Against Christianity.
