David Newton

Consultant

David Newton has lived in Santa Barbara for 30 years. From 1984-2012, he was a full-time university professor of entrepreneurship, finance, and strategy – first in the Pepperdine MBA program, then at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and until 2012 at Westmont in Santa Barbara. He has a BS in Business, an MBA in Finance, and PhD in Entrepreneurial Finance.

In 2012, Dr. Newton returned to his undergrad alma mater - The King’s College in N.Y. and served as Provost alongside then President Dinesh D’Souza.

For the last 7 years he has been teaching in the Center for Executive Development at the Rady School of Management at the University of California in San Diego, doing high-level training programs for senior executives and corporate boards all across the U.S. and in Europe. He has consulted to over 400 emerging growth ventures and published more than 200 articles.

He was formerly Contributing Editor on Small Firm Finance at Entrepreneur magazine for 5 years. Dr. Newton has authored/co-authored 11 books among them:

He has been married for 38 years, has a son and 3 daughters, all married, and 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters.
