Ron Pearson was a member of the original governing board of the National Journalism Center when it was founded by the late journalist and author M. Stanton Evans. Ron also serves as President of Pearson & Pipkin, Inc., a public policy strategy and management firm. He is Vice President of the YAF Board of Directors. Ron also served as National Treasurer of Young Americans for Freedom.
He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and received his B.A. from Valparaiso University, an M.A. from the University of Notre Dame, and did postgraduate work at Brown University.
Ron was chief of staff to the late Congressman John Ashbrook of Ohio and to Congressman Bill Dannemeyer of California. After leaving congressional employment, he became an accredited member of the congressional press corps. He has also served as a certified management consultant, has been a consultant to many campaigns on the Presidential, Senate and U.S. House levels and to the NRSC, as well as an expert consultant to various government bodies, including the Voice of America where he served as acting Deputy Director during part of the Reagan Administration.
Among Ron’s distinction is being a recipient of the "Defender of the Constitution" award for his work in helping to defeat “Hillarycare” in the 1990s. He also was the leading strategist in having national speed limit jurisdiction (and the notorious 55 mile per hour national speed limit) returned to each of the 50 states.
