In October, Young America’s Foundation also welcomed Jacob Roth as the staff attorney at our national headquarters in Reston, Virginia. Jacob majored in Slavic Studies, specializing in Russian Literature, at Northwestern University, and he earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is admitted to the bar in the District of Columbia and Nebraska. In college, Jacob interned with the Cato Institute and was a member of Students for Liberty. In law school, Jacob interned with the Heritage Foundation and the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE), and he was a member of the Federalist Society and a leader in the Virginia Law Republicans.
It was during law school that Jacob came to conservatism from a strongly libertarian background, due to the long-term influence of studying Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Thomas Sowell, and Jonathan Haidt. Prior to joining YAF, Jacob lived and worked in Omaha, Nebraska, which he highly recommends to anyone. Jacob came to YAF because of his lifelong aspiration to work for the ideals he believes in, and there is no organization fighting harder for conservatism and maintaining the American spirit than YAF. Jacob and his wife Abigail are proud to live in Virginia and play their roles in the broader Conservative Movement. Jacob and Abigail are religious Jews and draw inspiration for their conservatism from their faith in G-d and respect for the history and values of their people.
