Xavier University, a Catholic, Jesuit college in Ohio, has recently launched a new and shamelessly racist initiative: the “Aspiring Anti-Racist Allies Affinity Group.” This program, specifically designed for white staff, faculty, and alumni, aims to “reeducate” individuals on race, racism, and the so-called “white supremacy” that they supposedly exhibit in their everyday lives by simply existing as white individuals.
According to the program’s organizers, AARA is intended to help white participants “take responsibility for racist oppression,” an accusation leveled at them simply because of the color of their skin.
If Xavier’s employee and alumni base actually contained any white-hood-wearing members of the Ku Klux Klan, perhaps the accusation and training sessions would be warranted– but in reality, the school and those who willingly go along with this nonsense are simply looking to signal their virtue and compliance with the Left’s every whim.
The program is led by several faculty members, including Dr. Laney Bender-Slack, who specializes in middle childhood education, and Dr. Wendy Maxian, an associate professor of communication. Their aim is to foster “racial justice” on campus and create a space for individuals to “interrogate their whiteness.”
Recently, Young America’s Foundation’s New Guard also exposed the university’s bizarre “Eco Grief” series, which uses music and poetry to instill apocalyptic fear in students about the environment. Rather than preparing students for the real world, it seems Xavier is instead focused on convincing them that the end of the world is near unless they fully embrace the Left’s climate alarmism.
