Case Western University is hosting a “Gender Resistance Eclipse Party,” according to an event listing received through Young America’s Foundation’s Campus Bias Tip Line.
“Join Gender Resistance for a costume party and watching the eclipse!” reads a description posted below the event’s promotional flyer. “Come in your best space-themed outfit! Eclipse glasses provided :)”
The New Guard called the organizing department, the LGBT Center, to ask if students who are not members of the “gender resisting community” would be eligible to receive free glasses. The staff member stated that those who identify as “queer” would be served first, but that any leftover glasses would be available for anyone to claim, regardless of sexuality or “gender identity.”
Young America’s Foundation’s legal team is looking into whether the discriminatory distribution of the eclipse glasses may constitute a civil rights violation.
In a similar situation in February, the New Guardexposed the University of North Carolina Wilmington’s plans to host an “LGBTQ+ only” pool party, which would have resulted in the cancellation of regularly scheduled open swim hours for those who are not members of the leftist cult. Working in tandem with civil rights expert Mark Perry, YAF’s swift action resulted in the re-opening of the pool to all.
